A story made for a TV movie?

A crazed man in Florida walked into a school board meeting and after a short rant fired a gun at several board members. A security guard fired on the man without warning who fell over injured before turning the gun on himself.

But was Clay Duke insane? He had a family; his wife has called him ‘a gentle giant’.

The media are portraying him as being obsessed with the film ‘V for Vendetta’ and having a vendetta with the school board. Maybe there’s some truth to this. Maybe the media have blown this out of proportion – actually most definitely.

Examining his facebook page: his profile picture is the ‘V for Vendetta’ symbol and his religious views state that he’s a freedom fighter. He probably is a bit of a psycho.

The obvious reaction is that this man has watched the film far too many times and has decided to act out a vendetta he has with the school board, possibly over his wife getting fired or something.

Wonder how long it’ll be before a movie is made about these events? It reeks of movie potential. A crazed man with a grudge. A retired detective turned security guard saving the day. The final shoot out scene followed by the security guard breaking down in tears. I could write this movie. I give it five years before someone does.
